HDL. Get up on it!

Confused about HDL? Many people know that HDL, or high density lipoprotein, is one of the cholesterols, but don’t always remember that HDL is your body’s “good” cholesterol. One way to remember is to think about the H in HDL. A High level of HDL is good.

According to the American Heart Association, a low level of HDL cholesterol (less than 40 mg/dL for men and less than 50 mg/dL
for women) may increase your risk of developing heart disease. However, a high level of HDL cholesterol (60 mg/dL or more)
may protect against heart disease.

So what are you waiting for? Get up
on it! Talk to your doctor about HDL cholesterol today.
